Here are some tips for good trips that you have in mind, although I would still suggest that you visit the embassy of the country you are flying into for more related and accurate required documents. Most of the countries in the Asia Pacific region do not require a visa you only have to present a valid passport that is at least more than six months valid. These countries that we are talking about can be verified through http://www.asean.org/74.htm and you can also check on the latest press release of the organization that has been established last August 8, 1967, in Bangkok, Thailand. Our country is among the founding fathers of this organization.

If you are traveling into Singapore, most of the time the immigration officer expects a less than 14 days ticket and presentation of valid supporting documents on your reason of stay. Remember that Singapore is a high-end destination and the cost of living is very high compared to other destinations in Asia. However, Singapore proves to be one of the favorite destinations because it offers a lot of attractions other than shopping for signature products.

While for those who are starting their journey outside the country, many tourists would love to experience Hong Kong and Macau, both are under the Special Administrative Region of China. Shopping and the second Disney theme park in Asia can be found in Hong Kong, while if you want to experience a slice of Las Vegas, you can always have a side trip going to Macau via fast ferries.

Remember that if you are entering the Peoples Republic of China, a visa is very much required before you can pass through the immigration officer. Another common serious mistake that our government employees commit – they present themselves at the immigration check-point without their travel clearance. Please if you are working as a government employee, secure this very important document so you will avoid being barred from taking your flight.
Always remember that if you are heading for an international trip, it is always safe to ask or visit the local embassy to know the required documents aside from the six-month valid passport. Be extra careful in buying your tickets always be sure that the correct spelling of your name is reflected properly because this will avoid further inconvenience at the immigration check-point.
Another thing is to learn basic government rules and regulations of the country you are flying into because you don’t want to be apprehended because you are carrying a prohibited package like “lechon” (read: roasted pig) is not allowed to enter Singapore. If you are traveling into a country where English is barely used, remember to always have a copy of the hotel’s address that is written or printed in the local language, never rely on your new local accent as it might confuse the taxi driver that will eventually lead you to “Journey of the Lost Tourist”.
